People often have a party. It depends on the age of the person. Children have some friends join them at home. Older people prefer a meal at a restaurant. Of course, a birthday cake is traditional, with the number of candles equal to the age of the birthday boy or girl. Many adults don’t like to be reminded of this though!
2、Do people in your family celebrate birthday in different ways?
We are typical. The children will have a party at home. The adults go out to a nice restaurant. We always eat Chinese food.
3、Tell me a little about the best birthday celebration you have been to.
I think my grandfather’s 70 birthday was the best one. The weather was nice. We had tables outside with food and drink. We ate, drank, and talked all afternoon. Many of my father’s friends, relatives and colleagues came with presents.
4、What kind of presents do you get people for their birthdays?
I usually buy something which is both expensive and practical for my colleagues. However, I like to spend a lot of money for my girlfriend, in order to show her how much I loved her.
