GUADEC2018
I remembered the day when I leave from Xi’an, the rain was very heavy. I remembered that every time I went out to the door this year, I started on a rainy day, but the rain of that day was even bigger. The night before, I couldn’t sleep at night, thinking about the tide.
In the morning, my family sent me to the train station to Zhengzhou, and I went to a foreign country alonely. I chose Emirates. The service was pretty good. I took off from Xinzheng Airport to Almeria, Spain, and transfer in Yinchuan, Dubai, Madrid. After flying for about 26 hours, I finally arrived at the destination and took a deep breath of capitalism to feel the exotic atmosphere:).
On the first night, everyone was partying, getting to know each other and communicating with each other. This is a fresh experience for me. People are very nice. I have met many interesting friends. I really enjoy it.
During the meeting period, I participated in many meetings and social events, but the most memorable one was the lightning speech. Although I had some speeches before, they were all Chinese. This is my first English speech. Fortunately, it was only a short 3 minutes. I also made a lot of preparations before coming, but I was still a little nervous. Fortunately, he was successfully completed. I am very grateful to Carlos Soriano for giving me a lot of help. This is really a An unforgettable experience.
Flamingo
I heard that Flamingo is very famous. I was lucky enough to feel it today.
Almeria was a grand time, as usual being able to connect with friends and acquaintances is a large part of what makes GUADEC special. I found all the evening events to be spectacular and full of surprises. The beach party was awesome, and the flamenco night Was just spectacular. I was really moved by the music and the dancing.
I enjoyed this very much with sriram and we exchanged a lot abut flamenco night .
However, some of my other favourite events included the talks which took place during the core days. And I would have to say my top favourite included Designing Gnome Mobile and that how to chicken (but only a spoof), but all of the other Talks I attended to were equally interesting, inspiring and easy to follow.
We enjoyed the time at the seaside very much. The sea was very beautiful. In the evening, I looked at the beautiful scenery in front of me. I suddenly remembered the words in Shawshank’s redemption. “I hope the waters of the Pacific Ocean are as blue as my dreams.” I just met the gnome community last year and participated in a gnome-asia summit, but this year I have been able to become a gnome intern to participate in GUADEC. It is really a great thing to make my dreams through my own efforts.
I am very happy to play with my good friends on the beach. and we wrote GUADEC on sand.
