I had similar problem which was resolved by taking two steps :
1A. DELETE THE REGISTRY KEY : 32-bit machine> [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers]
1B. DELETE THE REGISTRY KEY : "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\\Common7\\IDE\\devenv.exe"=""
2A. GOTO : 32-bit machine> [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\
2B. DELETE THE FOLDER CONTAINING VISUAL STUDIO VERSION WITH PROBLEM: e.g 11.0 and 11.0_Config
