Today, I uninstalled the SQL Server 2008 on Windows Server 2003 and encountered an issue with "Restart computer", But restart computer many times, it was still this error.
Finally, I got it from "http://ntsblog.homedev.com.au/index.php/2010/05/05/sql-server-2008-uninstall-restart-computer-failure/"
To resolve that need to do below steps:
1.Leave the "Setup Support Rule" UI open if you are already in there
2.Delete "PendingFileRenameOperations”" from key”HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager”
3.Reclick "Re-run".
Now It does work well.
