But I want to modify this element from 
 <DomainPseudonym>1331859289489</DomainPseudonym> to
 <DomainPseudonym>555555</DomainPseudonym>

我尝试使用函数 xpath.setVariable("555555", doc) 进行修改，但没有工作并且没有给出任何错误。最终结果是将相同的内容复制到新的 xml 文件“proofSpecOut.xml”中。

XPath 不用于修改 xml，仅用于查找其中的一部分。 XPath.setVariable() 仅用于在 xpath 表达式中设置变量。您想使用XPath.selectSingleNode() 来检索文档的元素之一，然后您想直接使用Element.setText() 对其进行修改。
